Service Agreement
This Service Agreement explains the terms under which M&J’s Mobile Mechanics provides inspection, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair services. By scheduling service, authorizing work, checking the agreement box, or signing electronically, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
1. Authorization of Services
The customer authorizes M&J’s Mobile Mechanics to inspect, diagnose, maintain, or repair the vehicle according to the services approved by the customer.
Repairs or services not included in the original authorization will not be performed or charged without the customer’s consent.
2. Estimates and Additional Work
Estimates are based on the information and vehicle conditions known at the time they are prepared. Hidden damage, worn components, incorrect parts, or additional problems may be discovered after work begins.
The customer will be contacted for approval before additional billable work is performed. Under Maryland law, customers may request a written estimate for repairs costing more than $50, and charges generally may not exceed that estimate by more than 10% without the customer’s consent.
3. Replaced Parts
The customer may request the return of replaced parts, except when a part must be returned to a manufacturer, supplier, or warranty provider.
4. Diagnostic and Inspection Services
Diagnostic and inspection services are billable for the technician’s time, testing, equipment use, and professional evaluation, even when:
-
No repair is performed;
-
The customer declines the recommended repair; or
-
The problem cannot be fully confirmed during the appointment.
Payment of a diagnostic fee does not guarantee that every vehicle issue will be identified during one visit.
5. Customer-Supplied Parts
Customers may supply their own parts with prior approval.
M&J’s Mobile Mechanics is not responsible for incorrect, defective, damaged, incompatible, or delayed customer-supplied parts. Additional labor charges may apply if an incorrect or defective part must be removed, exchanged, or installed again.
Customer-supplied parts are not covered by M&J’s Mobile Mechanics’ parts warranty. Any labor warranty will be governed by the separate Limited Warranty Policy.
6. Mobile-Service Conditions
The customer must provide a safe, legal, reasonably level, and accessible location where the requested service can be performed.
M&J’s Mobile Mechanics may delay, relocate, reschedule, or refuse service because of:
-
Unsafe traffic or working conditions;
-
Severe weather or inadequate lighting;
-
Restricted or unlawful parking;
-
Soft, uneven, or unstable ground;
-
Insufficient space around the vehicle; or
-
Any condition that may endanger the technician, customer, vehicle, property, or public.
The customer must obtain any necessary permission from a property owner, apartment complex, business, homeowners association, or other responsible party before service begins.
7. Customer Responsibilities
The customer agrees to:
-
Provide accurate contact and vehicle information;
-
Disclose known mechanical, electrical, safety, or drivability problems;
-
Make the vehicle and keys available at the agreed time;
-
Remove valuables and personal property from the work area;
-
Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from the service area;
-
Remain reasonably available to approve additional work; and
-
Follow safety recommendations provided after service.
M&J’s Mobile Mechanics is not responsible for delays caused by inaccurate information, lack of access, missing keys, unavailable authorization, or unsafe site conditions.
8. Travel, Cancellation, and No-Show Fees
A travel fee may apply based on the service location and will be disclosed before the appointment whenever reasonably possible.
If the customer cancels after the technician has departed or arrived, is unavailable at the scheduled location, does not provide access to the vehicle, or cannot provide a safe working area, the customer may be charged applicable travel, inspection, or diagnostic fees.
9. Payment Terms
Payment for approved parts, labor, travel, diagnostic, and other applicable charges is due immediately upon completion of service unless a different arrangement is agreed to in writing.
Accepted payment methods may include cash, card, or approved digital payment methods.
The vehicle, keys, and installed parts may be withheld until payment is completed where permitted by law. Unpaid balances may be referred for collection, and the customer may be responsible for lawful collection costs.
10. Vehicle Pickup and Storage
When a vehicle is left in the care of M&J’s Mobile Mechanics, the customer must pick it up by the agreed time.
A storage fee may apply when a vehicle remains more than 24 hours after the customer has been notified that service is complete, unless other arrangements have been approved in writing.
11. Completion and Road Testing
The customer authorizes M&J’s Mobile Mechanics to start, operate, move, and road-test the vehicle when reasonably necessary to inspect, diagnose, complete, or verify the approved service.
Completion of a repair does not guarantee that the vehicle has no other defects or that unrelated components will not fail later.
12. Declined Recommendations
If the customer declines a recommended repair, inspection, test, or safety-related service, M&J’s Mobile Mechanics may document that decision on the service record or invoice.
The customer accepts responsibility for continuing to operate the vehicle after being informed of a known or suspected concern.
13. Right to Refuse or Stop Service
M&J’s Mobile Mechanics may refuse, suspend, or discontinue service when:
-
Conditions are unsafe or unlawful;
-
The requested work exceeds available equipment or capabilities;
-
The vehicle presents undisclosed hazards;
-
The customer becomes threatening, abusive, or uncooperative;
-
Required parts or information are unavailable; or
-
Continuing the work could cause unreasonable risk or damage.
The customer remains responsible for authorized work already completed and any applicable travel, diagnostic, parts, or labor charges.

This Service Agreement works together with M&J’s Mobile Mechanics’:
-
